The magic of music is that it brings people together. The Gospel Music Hall of Fame will focus on this celebrated aspect of Black culture and be an anchor of the community while inspiring visitors of all races and religions through the power of song.
- MONICA R. BUTLER, FOUNDER
The Gospel Music Hall of Fame will have a notable positive impact on our community, our region and our state.
We expect tens of thousands of visitors will come annually to the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, from locations around the country and the world.
We will add a major new cultural institution to St. Louis that will be unlike anything in the United States.
We will preserve and celebrate the legacy of gospel music and preserve the incredible architecture of our region.
We will invest substantially to stabilize an area of our region that has seen disinvestment and decay.
The Second Baptist Church's resurrection as the Gospel Music Hall of Fame - Missouri will capture and showcase the historical and emotional impact of gospel music. Visitors will celebrate gospel music while learning the roots of this uniquely American art form and its influence on modern music.
I can't imagine a better way to honor the characters and history of this sacred space.
- Former Alderwoman Heather Navarro
